14th Annual Bikeathon & Pig Roast
Sunday 8th June 2008
The Newman's Leukaemia research Bikeathon has raised over £400,000 since it began 14 years ago.
Each year nearly 1,000 people take part in a fun day that takes them through the country around Rugby and Coventry.
There are three routes a 10-mile designed to suit families and novices, 26 miles for intermediate cyclists and then a
50-mile route for the serious cyclists.
Staff at Newman's start work with Janet Haynes the Chief organiser almost as soon as the last
sponsorship is collected in from the previous year. At Newman's if you're not marshalling or looking after clients on
the day you have to have a good reason for not being on your bike!
Starting points for this year are:-
10 Mile Tootle Start 11 am Newbold (Rugby) only
26 Mile Marathon Start 10.30 am Newbold (Rugby) & Brandon (Coventry)
50 Mile Challenge Start 10 am Newbold (Rugby) & Brandon
(Coventry)
With Newman's support it means every £1 raised can be used for much needed research. Entry is
£6 per person which includes a T-SHIRT & PIG ROAST, sponsor forms, maps and control card.
Entry forms and further information are available from the
